ME 205 - Strength of Materials I

Concepts of two-dimensional stress and strain, factors of safety, thermal strain, static indeterminacy, stress concentration, bending including normal and shearing stresses, torsion, and direct shear.  Experiments are performed in the lab to reinforce the developed theory.  This course has a design project.  (Pre- or co-requisite:  ME 201).
