Ansonia
Nature Center/Quillinan Reservoir (Ansonia, CT)
From Rt. 8 southbound: Take exit 17. At the end of the ramp, go left for
about 20 meters and then immediately turn right onto Atwater Avenue (note:
none of the streets have street signs). On Atwater Ave., go about 0.2 miles
to the stop light on Division Street, on the Ansonia/Derby border. Go right
on Division Street. Just after you cross the river, Division St.
becomes Elm St. (Rt. 243). Continue on Elm to the intersection with the
Ansonia Police Department on your left. Bear right staying on Rt. 243, which
is now Platt St. Bear left at top of hill, go to Stop sign. Continue
straight until you see the Baptist Church on your left and turn right onto
Benz St. Stay on Benz St., following the signs until you come to Milan St.
Turn left onto Milan and continue straight into the Nature Center parking
lot on Deerfield Rd.
From Rt. 8 northbound: Take exit 16, which will put you on Pershing Drive
going northeast. After about 0.3 miles, go right on Division Street (on the
Ansonia/Derby border). Stay on Division Street and cross the river, and
continue with directions from above at underlined text.

Bald Rock (Bethel, CT)
From I-84 in Danbury: Take exit 5, go south on Rt. 53 for 3.5 miles, and
turn left onto Rt. 302. After 1 mile (at light), go right on Chestnut Ridge
Rd. Immediately veer left, staying on Chestnut Ridge Rd. After 1.5 miles,
look for O signs to parking
Bethel Schools Complex
(Bethel, CT)
From I-84: Take exit 10, go west on US 6 for 1.0 miles, then left on Rt.
25 for 0.4 miles, then west on Rt. 302 for 6.1 miles, then right on Judd
Road, and take first right into the Bethel Schools Complex.
From Rt. 15 (Merritt Parkway) in Fairfield, CT: Take exit 44/45, go north on
Rt. 58 for about 13 miles. At stoplight at intersection of Rt. 58 and Rt.
302 in Bethel, go straight, and take first right into the Bethel Schools
Complex.
Brooksvale Park (Hamden, CT)
Rt. 15, Exit 61, north to Rt. 10. After about 6 miles, turn left onto
Brooksvale Ave. Continue .7 miles to Brooksvale Park.
Club GetAway (Kent, CT)
At traffic light in Kent (monument in center of road) take right onto
341 East at the Mobil Station. One half mile up, take a right at triangle in
road, following sign pointing towards South Kent. Club Getaway is 1/4 mile
down the road on the left.
Cranbury Park (Norwalk, CT)
From Rt. 7, where the Rt. 7 expressway ends in Norwalk: Continue north
on Rt. 7 for 0.6 miles, and turn right (east) onto Kennsett Avenue. After 0.6 miles, Kennsett Avenue ends
at the intersection of Grumman Avenue. Continue straight across Grumman
Avenue and into the parking lot for Cranbury Park.
Crandalls Park (Tolland, CT)
Take exit 68 (Route 195 / UConn) off I-84. Turn north on Rt. 195 toward
Tolland Green. Take first left onto Cider Mill Rd., then a quick left at the
stop sign. Crandalls is on your right. There are a couple of different
parking areas, so look for O signs.
Fairfield University
(Fairfield, CT)
From the Merritt Pkwy (Rt. 15): Take exit 44 and turn left off the ramp.
Go south on Black Rock Tpke. (Rt. 58) (if coming from south, Rt 15, turn
right; if coming from north, turn left). Proceed 2 miles to Stillson Rd.
(Rt. 135) and turn right. Bear left, at the second light, onto North Benson
Road. The main University entrance will be on your right. Follow signs to
parking.
Five Ponds (Litchfield, CT)
From Rt. 8: Take exit 38 off Rt. 8. Go west on Rt. 109 for 6.2 miles,
then north on Rt. 63 for 0.5 miles, then east on Isiah Smith Lane for 0.7
miles and park at the end of the lane.
From downtown Litchfield: Go south on Rt. 63 for 3.5 miles, then east
onto Isiah Smith Lane for 0.7 miles and park at the end of the lane.
Gay City State Park (Hebron,

From the South/New London area: Follow Route 85 north. Park entrance is
6.7 miles past the intersection with Route 66.
From the North/Hartford & Massachusetts area: I-384 east to Exit 5. Take
Route 85 south for 4.7 miles.
Hoyt Scout Camp, West
Redding, CT
Marchant Road Entrance:
From Rt. 53 in Redding: About 2.5 miles north of Rt. 107, go west on
Umpawaug Road. After about 0.5 miles, veer right onto Marchant Road. After
about another 1.0 miles, just before the stop sign at Simpaug Turnpike, turn
right into the parking area.
From Rt. 7 on the Redding/Ridgefield border: Note: as of spring 2012
the bridge on Simpaug Turnpike is closed. To bypass the bridge, from Rt.
7 go east on Topstone Road. Turn left onto Chestnut Woods Road (passing
Simpaug Turnpike). Then turn left onto Marchant Road. The entrance is on the
right.
[Original directions, for when bridge is reopened.] Go east on Simpaug Turnpike
for about 1.5 miles, then go straight on Marchant Road and look for O signs
into parking on left.
Simpaug Turnpike Entrance:
From Rt. 53 in Redding: about 3.0 miles north of Rt. 107, go west on Side Cut Rd. After about
0.5 miles, continue straight as Side Cut turns into Simpaug Turnpike. After
about another 0.5 miles, look for O signs into parking.
From Rt. 7 on the Redding/Ridgefield border: Go east on Simpaug Turnpike for
about 1.5 miles, then take a sharp left, staying on Simpaug Turnpike and look
for O signs on the right after about 0.5 miles.
From the West Redding Train Station on the Metro North commuter line:
From the West Redding
train station, find your way to the road that parallels the train tracks on
the south side of the tracks. This is Simpaug Turnpike. Follow this road
southwest. After 0.5 miles, you will see the Simpaug Turnpike entrance on
your left. If you are going to the Marchant Road entrance, continue on
Simpaug Turnpike for another 0.5 miles, turn left onto Marchant Road, and go
immediately left into the parking area.
Huntington State Park

From I-84: Take exit 10, go west on US 6 for 1.0 miles, then left on Rt.
25 for 0.4 miles, then west on Rt. 302 for 6.1 miles, then south on Rt. 58
for 1.2 miles, then left onto Sunset Hill Rd. for 1.0 miles (north entrance)
or 2.0 miles (south entrance), and look for O signs to parking.

3.2 miles from that same intersection, following Rt. 116 towards Amherst.

From exit 37 off the Merritt Parkway (Rt. 15), go north on Rt. 124 for
2.7 miles. Turn into Nature Center on the left.
Osbornedale State Park
(Derby, CT)
From Rt. 8, go west on Rt. 34 about 1.5 miles. Turn right on Cedric
Ave., go about 0.2 miles, and look for O signs. Meets start at the Kellogg
Environmental Center on Hawthorne Ave., or at parking areas inside the
entrance to Osbornedale State Park on Chatfield Street.
Paugussett State Forest
(Newtown, CT)
From I-84: Take exit 10, go west on US 6 west for 0.6 miles, then north
on The Boulevard Road for 1.3 miles where the road joins Hanover Road, then
continue north on Hanover 2.1 miles to parking.
From Bethel Schools Complex: Return to Judd
Ave, at the entrance to the school complex. Turn left onto Judd Ave. and
proceed up the hill to the traffic light at the intersection of Rt. 302.
Turn left, east, onto Rt. 302 toward Newtown. Proceed about 6 miles to the
traffic light at Rt. 25 and the end of Rt. 302. Turn left, north, onto Rt.
25. At the flagpole in .4 miles, turn right onto Rt. 6 (Church Hill Rd). In
.4 miles, turn left onto The Boulevard Road. Proceed for 1.3 miles where the
road joins Hanover Road, then continue north on Hanover 2.1 miles to
parking.
Pond Mountain (Kent, CT)
From Rt. 7 in Kent, turn west onto Rt. 341, and look for O signs to meet
start.
Ratlum Mountain (DeWeese Property, Canton, CT)
From West:
Route 8 N to Winsted. Exit curves around, so go L at the light to go E on
Rte 44. Go 3.5 miles to Rte 318 on left. Take 318 for about 3 miles across
the river and over the dam by the Barkhamsted reservoir- watch the signs as
the road curves a lot. After the dam take 219 N for 1 mile to Ratlum Road on
the right. Go 1 mile to Ratlum Mtn Road on the left. Go 1 mile on Ratlum Mtn
Rd to #263 Wright Road (same road) on the left.
From North:
Take Exit 40 from I-91, the Bradley airport connector. Last exit on
connector before the airport itself is Route 20 W. Take 20 West for about 8
miles to Rte 219 on the left. Follow 219 for four miles to funny junction
with 179. Go left and then right to stay on 219 for another 1.5 miles. Left
on Ratlum Road for 1 mile to Ratlum Mountain Road. Go 1 mile on Ratlum Mtn
Rd to #263 Wright Road (same road) on the left.
From East:
From I-84 take exit 39, route 4 in Farmington. Take Rte 4 West for about 8
miles to junction with Rte 179. At that point 4 goes left and 179 goes
straight. Follow 179 as it makes a few turns. After crossing Rte 44, go north 4 more miles to Wright Road on
your left. Follow Wright Rd for 2 miles to #263 on the right.
Sessions Woods (Burlington, CT)
From Rt. 8, north of Waterbury: take exit 42, and go east on Rt. 118.
After about 2.5 miles, continue east on Rt. 4. After about another 5.3
miles, go south on Rt. 69. After about 3.4 miles, turn right into the
parking area for Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area.
From I-84, just west of Hartford: Take exit

From Rt. 7, just south of the intersection of I-84 and Rt. 7 in Danbury,
take the exit for Park Ave./Danbury Fair Mall. Go east on Park Ave. about
0.5 miles; then right at the light onto Wooster St.; then an immediate right
onto Wooster Heights Rd.; then first left onto Southern Blvd. After about
0.5 miles, stay on Southern Blvd. as it takes a sharp right, then

From Rt. 15 (Merritt Parkway), take exit 44/45 and go north on Rt. 58

FROM I-84 IN DANBURY:
Go south on Rt. 7, and take exit for Danbury Airport. At the end of the
ramp, go left (south) onto Sugar Hollow Road. Take the first right (west)
onto Miry Brook Road, and follow the "From Miry Road" directions below.
FROM RT. 7, SOUTH OF DANBURY:
Take the exit for the Danbury Airport (about 1 mile south of I-84). Bo left
(west) at the end of the ramp, onto Miry Brook Road, and follow the "From
Miry Brook Road" directions below.
FROM MIRY BROOK ROAD (just south of the Danbury Airport):
Once on Miry Brook Road, continue west for 1.0 miles, staying left at the
stop sign and staying on Miry Brook Road. After another 0.5 miles, go left
(west) onto George Washington Highway. After 0.4 miles, go left (south) onto
Old Mill Road (this turns into Ned's Mountain Road). After 0.7 miles, turn
right onto Bogus Road and park along one side of road (keep all the cars on
one side of the road).
LAKE WINDWING PARKING:
Rough locator: The parking area is at ballfields maintained by the town of
Ridgefield, on the south side of Lake Windwing. Lake Windwing is about 2
miles west of Rt. 7, about 3 miles north of downtown Ridgefield and about 3

Directions from I-84 in Danbury:
- - On the west side of Danbury, take exit 2 off of I-84, and go South on
Old Ridgebury Road.
-- After about 0.8 miles, go Right (West) at an intersection, staying on
Old Ridgebury.
-- After 1.0 miles, go Left (South) at the stop sign, onto Ridgebury
Road.
- - After about 2.0 miles (maybe a bit less), turn Left (Southeast) onto Old
Stagecoach Road.
- - After about 0.7 miles, you'll come to a stop sign. Take the most
Leftmost road you can take. (Note: you'll really be going more or less
straight, but Old Stagecoach Road goes to the right at this intersection,
and you're turning onto Bennett's Farm Road, though there is no sign for
this road.)
- - After 0.4 miles, just after a sharp right curve in the road and with a
school on the right, turn Left onto South Shore Drive.
- - Take the first Left into parking area for Windwing Lake.
