Professor Mousumi Bhattacharya, Ph. D.

Charles F. Dolan School of Business, Fairfield University

 

Mousumi teaches strategy and human resource management at the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, Fairfield University. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India; and a Ph.D. in Management from Syracuse University, New York, USA. She has worked for the largest steel manufacturer in India, listed in Fortune 500 (1997) for seven years in human resource management and strategic planning.

Mousumi’s main area of research is strategic human resource (HR) management, where she investigates the links between people skills, behavior, and practices and firm performance. She is also interested in the international dimensions of business, specially the role of people for global businesses. Mousumi has presented her research in many prestigious national and international conferences organized by the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and Eastern Academy of Management. Her research has been published by the Strategic Management Society, and the Global Business and Technology Association. Currently she is working on several research articles under review at top journals in Management.
