AT Mid-Semester Meeting, Fall 2003

The ATs in a rare period of slow motion

Below are featured some of our 20 or so ATs who teach Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian or Spanish.  Our ATs come from diverse geographical and academic areas, including students who are freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, international students from around the world taking classes at Fairfield University for the semester or the academic year, and graduate students in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions.  Funding for the AT/OPS Program is provided by the Dean’s Office, College of Arts & Sciences.

At this meeting, we were pleased to welcome Dr. Sandra Billings and Dr. Joseph Ricciotti, who addressed the group on the Fairfield University public school teacher certification and internship programs, including possibilities for $10,000 scholarships.

The Assistant Teacher/Oral Practice Session (AT/OPS) training workshop is offered at the beginning of each semester, and all Fairfield University students are eligible to participate and potentially be hired as ATs.  See the main AT/OPS page for information on the next workshop.
