I am currently an Associate Professor at Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. I teach courses and conduct research in media and cultural studies in the Department of Communication. I made an intro video that can be viewed here. I completed an MA and Ph.D. at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylavnia. My undergraduate days were spent with the Jesuits at the University of San Francisco. My book, "Confidential to America: Newspaper Advice Columns and Sexual Education" was published in Fall 2008. I live in West Chelsea in Manhattan, but still consider Palm Springs, California as home. I spend my summers on Fire Island.

When I am not reading or writing, I like to swim, paint, hit the gym, cause trouble, and sleep. Currently a lot of French House and Circuit classics are on heavy rotation on my iPod.
