My research focuses broadly on the intersections of media and society. In the past I have conducted research on everything from newspaper advice columns to home shopping networks. You can check out my CV for all the details. I teach a great group of Communication majors at Fairfield and have also taught at the California State University San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus. Currently I am working on a research project about the cultural history of shopping from home. I serve on the editorial boards of Critical Studies in Media Communication and Sexuality & Culture and am the author of several journal articles and the book Confidential to America: Newspaper Advice Columns and Sexual Education.
