So Obama was sworn in and apparently sworn in again tonight after some concerns that the initial oath wasn’t good enough. Talk about some magic hocus-pocus type stuff. Apparently the oath is little more than ritual, but it is a ritual strong and powerful enough that Chief Justice Roberts ran over to the White House tonight. I was quoted in a newspaper article about the new President’s speech yesterday that followed the apparently fraudulent oath. You can read that piece here. I am also fascinated by this web page (it takes some time to load) which compiles a whole lot of newspaper covers from around the world from the day following the swearing in. I can’t help but to wonder for how many more new Presidents we will have a collection of print newspaper covers to look at. I guess, notably, the only actual covers of newspapers I saw today were online.
